easter changes everything

sooo i'm about to get kinda deep and its only my third blog but whatevs....
yesterday at my church back in houston, it was one of the best easter sunday sermons. everytime i hear my pastor at bridge point bible church speak, it rocks my world. before we entered into the sanctuary we were given a piece of cardboard, which was different from our usual weekly bullentin. i was immediately intrigued. my pastor held his own bigger piece of cardboard with death on one side and then life on the other. don't worry im not going to go into the entire sermon even though it rocked...
the main thing he wanted to get across is that jesus died and then rose again to life, and that changes everything- if jesus can over come death and sin on a cross, that changes everything. i know this is not an incredible new revelation. but at the end of the sermon my pastor had people from my church come out one by one and show their own pieces of cardboard. on the front they wrote things that were keeping them from truly living free in christ, and on the back what their life looks like now with victory in christ. it was so cool to see the gospel be so real in peoples lives. for people to stand up infront of others they know and dont know and show the gross sin in their lives but then show that it does not end there, it was just such an amazing testimony of who our God is. a man from the sudan got up and showed his piece of cardboard. it said lost boy of the sudan and on the back citizen of the USA and of heaven. it was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time...so yeah it was just a great beautiful day.
and we also colored eggs which turned out awesome. my mom did all the names.

these were my favorites..

i love water

i have been blessed to see some pretty amazing bodies of oceans, lakes and rivers in my day. i fell in love with the sea when i was 10ish on my first trip to florida. we were on our way to disney world and we stopped in pensacola. since then i just keep falling more and more in love. even if its not the white sands of florida or crystal clear blue water of hawaii, i still loves it!!

so last spring break the hunnies went on a cruise to some very tropical destinations that sent my heart over the edge. sometimes its hard to believe that we went to four incredibly beautiful countries in one week. and we freaked owned that boat...and raffles.

so this spring break it wasn't beautiful teal water that sparkled in the sun, or buffets filled with endless food, or dancin the nights away in maharinis.... but we did go to madagorta bay!! kate's grandparents river house rocks. i mean we cooked up some sexy food, drank some good drinks, and saw plenty of sun. just laying on the dock near the water or laying on the not so perfect beach, was still perfect. it was a nice break to the craziness of school.

its go time...

i have crossed to the darkside. but i think i like it. i do like that the blog world is more personal. it is though so hard to think of what to blog about, since we all know how exciting my life is and all the insightful thoughts flowing through my head....

but whatever i'm just going to start talking. my life right now is full of trying to figure out how to teach first graders and endless projects. it's kind of wierd being the last one of the hunnies still in school. but at least two are still here with me, i don't know what i would do if they were'nt here. i am learning a ton about teaching which rocks but im not sure if i want to do it. i did though, find out today from an art teacher that you do not need to be certified to teach art in elementary. this made my day. i am still praying that art teacher will be in my future. even though i love the first grade class im in right now, all i can think about is all the cool art projects we could be doing.

i feel kind of blah right now, especially with the Lord. school can be so consuming and an easy cop-out for drifting. i realize i am so quick to be lazy over seeking Him like crazy even though im dead tired. school is almost over though, which means summer and some possible amazing adventures (bonnaroo, china, and hawaii.. i'm not totally ruling that out). i am excited to see what the Lord has instore for me. He is always good.
